Touchscreen Kitchen Timer

This works as a simple timer but has a major flaw in the backlight. To save battery the backlight tuns off after 10 or 30 seconds (I can’t seem to figure out what determines which timeout it has) even while counting. In bright light you can still sort of tell what the timer says if you look closely, but it really should stay on while actively counting. Clearing isn’t intuitive (press M and S simultaneously) but it is mentioned in the manual. I just don’t think someone should have to resort to reading the manual to know how to use a basic function. I also wish it had up and down increments… if you pass your target time all you can do is clear and start over.

Reedeming qualities are: The magnets hold it to my fridge well and the alarm seems loud enough without being annoying. The display has large numbers (it’s easy to read when the backlight is actually on).

It’s available for $10.99 at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/ProCuisine-Touchscreen-Stopwatch-Retractable-Batteries/dp/B016WK6MKS
