This colander is the perfect size to fit into my sink and it looks very nice. The entire thing is a sturdy construction. The handles are attached in a way it is easy to hold and shake the contents to drain the liquid faster. The base is sturdy. My old one was plastic and collapsible, what a difference, I will never go back. Stainless steel keeps the food tasting like it should and this colander is not going to break easily. My plastic one tore and tainted the flavor of the food. This colander is pretty enough to keep on my counter with anything from oranges to bananas inside. This is a good quality, I could stand on it and it is not going to bend or break.
