This butane torch is easy to operate and has a hot jet flame. It would work well for adding a sear to food or bruleeing things.

It’s shipped empty so you will need to fill it first with a butane refill can. They can be found at any hardware store.

The flame is a little adjustable but is mostly on or off. The piezoelectric trigger start works well and does not require batteries. There is a trigger lock to prevent starting it but nothing stops the gas dial so you could vent all the gas out of the torch if you aren’t careful.
