The Santa Medica Pulse Oximeter is a little device that clamps on your finger and will tell you your heart rate and blood oxygenation level. If you’ve ever been in the hospital or watched doctor shows on TV you’ve probably seen the monitor they hook the patient up to that has pulse, EKG and the oximetry on it. This is a home version of that. You can use it if you have a condition that requires monitoring or if you want to see your heart rate while working out. The screen is bright and easily readable. To my eye it looks like the type of OLED display high end car stereos use, but I don’t have any specs to back that up. The display has multiple modes that flip it around and sideways, see the video for a demo.
It’s comfortable to wear but stays put well. It comes with a protective case and a lanyard. The required 2 AAA batteries are included which is nice as well. Overall, it’s a pretty nice device. It’s FDA approved for measuring pulse rate and blood oxygen saturation.
It’s currently available for $21.95 at amazon: http://amzn.to/1QjGtEn
